He wore a brown coat,
And his grandfathers boots from the war.
They got married in a church down in old San Antonio
And when their families found out what they did,

He brought her flowers
The day that their baby was born
They named her Maybellene, after their favorite song.
They lived in an old house,
That they both couldn't afford,
But every night he'd sit her on the porch
